Meet the Team

Vernon Hester received his Bachelors at the University of South Carolina. Prior to working in insurance he was a High School teacher, as well as a football, baseball, and soccer coach. He became an insurance agent in 2011. He has been married to his wife Debbie for 38 years and have 2 kids and four grandkids. On the weekends he enjoys boating, golfing, hunting, fishing, and seeing his grandchildren. He attends Saint Stephens Lutheran Church. He enjoys working with Perry Insurance Group because of Mr. Perry’s management, he allows the agents to do their job!

Kathy James has been an insurance agent with Nationwide for 15 years. She attended the University of South Carolina. She has been married to her husband Gary James for 36 years. She is proud of having two wonderful daughters that are happy and successful and 6 beautiful granddaughters. She enjoys grilling out with the family as well as watching her granddaughters play sports. She loves her job at the Perry Insurance Group because she feels like she helps people every day either in their business or personal life.

David Perry started with Nationwide Insurance in 1989. Previously, he worked as a State Trooper with the SC Highway Patrol. During his time with Nationwide he served in many rolls, such as an SIU Investigator, Claims Adjuster, Claims Manger, and SIU Director, among other rolls in management. In June of 1998 he opened his own agency in Lexington, SC on Sunset Blvd. Since opening his agency with one employee he now has 19 employees with 4 locations in the Columbia area. David Perry holds a Bachelors Degree in Business from Central Wesley College. He attends St. Stephens Lutheran Church in Lexington, SC. Also, he is a proud father of 3 children, Meredith, Christopher, and Brooke and "Poppy" to 4 wonderful grandchildren.

Nathan Hunter has been an insurance agent since 2007. He is licensed in P&C, Life and Health, and Specialty/Surplus Lines, however, he specializes in Commercial Insurance and also writes personal line policies. Nathan has a German Shepard named Lulabelle. His favorite thing to do on the weekends consists of going to the mountains where he mountain bikes to promote healthy living in the Midlands. His is passionate about craft beer and good food! His favorite thing about working with Perry Insurance Group is helping people alongside a close knit team.

Meredith Sox has a bachelors in Elementary Education, a M. ED. Administration and Supervision, and is licensed in P&C, and LA&H. She started working with the Perry Insurance Group in high school as a telemarketer. After college, she pursued her dream of being a teacher for 12 years. She recently decided to come back to her roots as a licensed property, casualty, life, accident, and health producer. She’s been married to her husband, Wesley, for 14 years. Together they have three boys, Perry Charles, Paxton, and Peyton. She spends the majority of her time at the baseball and football fields as all three of her children are active in sports. Her husband is a business owner in Lexington, so they are devoted and proud of the community they serve. They also enjoy traveling and spending time with family as well as watching college football. She says the Perry Insurance group stands true to the family atmosphere it promotes, and allows them to share that with their clients. Overall, she loves what she does, meeting new people, and helping others in the community.

Jennifer Coetzee is a licensed customer service representative with Perry Insurance Group with over 20 years of experience with Nationwide Insurance. There are many reasons she loves working with Perry Insurance Group but the one that stands out the most is working for such a genuine and caring person. Also, she loves that she gets to work with a great group of co-workers it’s really like being a part of a family. Outside of work you find her spending time with her husband and 12 year old son, Adrian. She couldn't be more proud of the young man adrian is growing into. She enjoys boating on Lake Murray, ATV trail riding, and any outdoor adventures. She also loves to shop, craft, and bake. Her passion is her family and doing whatever it takes to make them smile everyday. She is an animal lover and has a cut and a bunny.
